I have never watched the show but my local newspaper used to put out a small publication on Sunday, When Daniel Craig became Bonf for the first time they mentioned Conner, Lanzeby, Moore, Dalton, and Bronson and a small fact about each. Connery became a cult classic, The second one was controversial. Moore was the least serious. Dalton was dark and cool enough and Pierce looked like he spent more time at a spa then as a spy. Craig was too blond to be bond. In my opinion the charcter has to grow and each man brought his own spin on the man Agent 007

Connery was a main stream movie star. C'mon. A cult movie was a failure
in the year it was released and likely panned by critics as well, that
found an audience later either through late night showings or home video.

The second one was controversial.

The controversy wasn't over his performance in On Her Majesty's Secret
Service. The performance is fine, and as it's the straightest adaptation
of Ian Fleming, a real favorite with those of us who liked the novels.

The controversy was created by Lazenby himself who refused to honor his
seven movie commitment, which is why they gave Connery the truck full of
money to return for Diamonds Are Forever.

Moore was the least serious.

He was hired to do nudge nudge wink wink, alas, more of the humor in the
vein of Goldfinger. A lot of it still works today. In several movies,
like For Your Eyes Only, Moore gave a good performance playing Fleming's
Bond. He could act when he tried. I always liked the guy as he had a
nice sense of humor.

Dalton was dark and cool enough

Dalton is probably the best actor of all to play Bond. Wish he'd had
better scripts, but I do like Licence to Kill a lot.

Craig was too blond to be bond.

Craig brought a real dangerous performance, reminiscent of Fleming, so I
liked it. Nevertheless, Quantum of Solace is one of the worst movies
I've ever seen. Probably his best movie was Skyfall.
